Further Congressional Capitulation to the President

Maybe it’s just a symptom of a Senate so closely divided, but it appears that Congress, led by the Senate, is preparing to capitulate more power to the president than he has already, a new article out of Congressional Quarterly has indicated.

The administration and congressional Republicans want a more sweeping overhaul of the law. It would expand the executive branch’s surveillance authority and include other provisions, such as liability protections for companies that participated in the National Security Agency’s warrantless wiretapping program.

I am not the first person to notice that EVERY SINGLE TIME the heat comes on for the President to pull out of Iraq, there is suddenly a major terror scare, followed by another power grab by the President.  I’m sorry, but no.  Congress cannot waive ANY more of its duties to the president.

STAND UP, CONGRESS!  You represent us.  Start representing!
