Sunday evening thoughts

I’ve been promising some updated info on our upcoming activism but still don’t have any finalized details.  I’ll do my best to have them this week.  In the meantime have a look at Matt’s thoughts on Bruce Fein’s Slate article.  When I posted Thursday I hadn’t seen his reference to it so either great minds think alike or we share a tragically narrow news diet.  One extremely important point he makes is that Congressional Democrats are treating the slow motion meltdown of the Republican party as a political bonanza instead of looking at the implications for the country as a whole.  While it may be safest to sit back and watch the carnage it also lets what happens now begin to form precedent.  Whatever the benefits next November I doubt it will be looked back on as statesmanlike.
